a Seth Funny

The boys were playing with their dinosaurs and Seth brought the Brontosaurus up to me and smiled and said "Quack quack!" I laughed and said "Does the Brontosaurus say quack quack?" and his reply "yah."

a few minutes goes by and he brings me the Triceratops and says "MOOOOOOOO" I laughed again and Nolan looked up and said "no Seff, the tatertots(Nolan speak for triceratops) not say moo."

to be fair though they totally could've said quack quack and moo.
I am standing outside watching the boys ride their bikes and typing this out on my phone. So forgive the grammatical errors.

Aaron is out for the evening and the boys woke up a little while ago from a really late nap. I see a long might of Caillou, Dora, and the Backyardigans in my future.

I plan to check out some on demand movies after they go to bed, and I have some tagging to do to all of the clothes I am going to be selling at the JBF consignment sale in April. Unless I put it off again, which is entirelypossible. But it needs to be done.

It is one of the easier things I can do to prepare for our eventual move this summer... We have so much to do before we can even really move forward. We need to box up anything and everything that we can and put it in storage, we need to finish the kitchen, clean the carpets, paint, and also get in touch with our realtor extraordinaire and see what else he wants us to do. At this point we are hoping to be ready to put the house on the market in late spring, that's of course taking in the lazy factor and the kids and our schedules.

I was hoping that we could rent a studio apartment to live in for a few months during this whole process, but I think we will just try to sell it while we live here and see what happens.

We are so ready to have a house and a yard, and though I don't know how easy it will be to sell in this market, houses are so cheap we would be stupid to wait.

I would love any advice along the way, we've never sold before.

Ok my hands are freezing, and it's taken me like 25 minutes to type this out.

Nolan heard daddy getting up this morning and came rushing out of the bathroom, pulling up his underwear. "Hi daddy! I go pee pee in the potty, can I wash my hands?" Aaron replied "sure, that would be a good plan" ... then I hear "here daddy, dis is garbage I wiped my pee pee on it." Aaron starts to laugh "no no, let's go put that in the toilet. I don't want it."

Blue Blue Blue

I took the what color are you test over here, and while I was taking it, I kept thinking I don't think I'm doing this right; I feel like I'm a little all over the board, and when I read the result, it surprised me because I was all over the board; true to my personality. This sums me up perfectly:

Blues have distinct preferences and have the most controlling personality. Their personal code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy sharing meaningful moments in conversation as well as paying close attention to special life events (e.g. birthdays and anniversaries). blues are dependable, thoughtful, and analytical; but can also be self-righteous, worry-prone, and moody. They are "sainted pit-bulls" who never let go of something or someone once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere and make a genuine effort to understand and appreciate them.

Very interesting!

New School Pictures

So, the Picture People came to the boys' daycare on Tuesday and took photos of all the kids. I didn't have high hopes for good pictures because... well... I just didn't. I had visions of the family portrait session and how Aaron had to restrain Nolan more than once, and how I had to practice severe self control from turning into walmart mom... and well... like I said, I just didn't have high hopes.

We got the proofs yesterday, I am impressed w/ the speed! and ... well, look for yourself.

(btw, these are scans of teeny tiny photos... so the quality is obviously not that great.)

I'm not sure if they told him to act coy or what... also, didn't think the ragamuffin batman shoes would be in the shot.

This shot is amazing... he's engaged, he's smiling... I love it. We will likely be ordering a package of this one.

This is the only single one of Seth we got, and of course he is sucking his damn lip. I guess he freaked out (Strangers w/ cameras = EEEEEVVVVIIIILLLLL!!!!!!!!) and so I'm just surprised that he wasn't fully crying here. The lip sucking means he went to his happy place. I am sure we'll order a package of this, mainly because it's the only single shot of him and it's a true testament to who he is at this age... but I don't like the shadow on the side of his face. I think Nolan must've been sitting right next to him.

and lastly, the big pickle.

boys scan

Aaron likes it because it totally shows what was going on that day, and how they both act... seth in his happy place with his william and nolan just being nolan.

I don't like it, I have enough pictures of them doing stuff like that... eh.

on that note, I have ten minutes to get dressed and put my face on so I better hop to it.

Seth Funnies

I don't have as many as I do for Nolan, as he isn't as verbal as Nolan, and when he is, we sometimes don't catch it... as we are STILL awaiting our Seth to English dictionary--have to get amazon about that. ;)

Anyway, on the way home from school yesterday it was very quiet in the car and out of nowhere Seth says "I ont suh pissa" (I want some pizza) ... it was so random and out of the blue, he doesn't ever really ask for food, so I thought it was kind of funny.

Last night while I was making dinner, Nolan was with Daddy in the other room and Seth was playing quietly at the kitchen table. He was singing to himself "who onts yu-unch? Me! I yike a yunch." (Who wants lunch, me, I like lunch!) it was cracking me up. Breakfast to him is 'Ceyall' (Cereal) and lunch and dinner are 'yunch'.

He's also embracing his wierdo side... we walked into his class yesterday and he came running over towards us and then decided to run laps around the bookcase. He ran about 3 laps before he finally came over to us... then last night right before dinner, he came running down the hallway and then dropped to the ground and rolled a few times. Totally reminded me of military drills.

He likes to be tickled, and can often be heard saying 'sickle me mom, sickle me.'

If he is feeling affectionate, he will hold his william up to your face and give you a love with it. If he is feeling super affectionate, he will hold william's tag to your lip so you can suck your lip and rub the tag on your face too.

President's Day = Late Valentine's Day!

Aaron and I have the day off today. This means a few awesome things... one, we get to sleep in. Or rather, Aaron and the boys do (at least until the boys are awake)... I am planning on going to the gym bright and early. Then the boys will go to daycare and I have a hair appt at 9:30. Then it's lunch for Aaron and I (probably taco time) and a movie! We should still be able to get the boys early, so I am not feeling too terribly guilty about that.

Here are some pics I've taken w/ my new iphone in the past week...

Nolan Funnies

A few funny things Nolan has said in the past couple of days...

"Caillou da barbarian"... when referring to Caillou and the librarian cartoon... heh. Which if you've ever seen Caillou, you know that he's the antithesis of a barbarian.

"no no Seff Aaron Magnet." This amuses me greatly, he will be chastising Seth for something and refer to him as Seff Aaron Magnet instead of Seth Aaron Maverick. I love it!

This afternoon he was looking at a book on the floor by himself (a rare 30 seconds of quiet around these parts!) and got up rather quickly to put it away and said (to noone in particular) "That was a GREAT story." Aaron and I chuckled to ourselves about that.

Last night when I was debating going to the grocery store, and asked Nolan if he wanted to come with me, he said "yeah, I want to take bofe of dese guys." I asked him "you want to take both of what?" and he kept repeating himself and sort of gesturing with his arms for emphasis... though he wasn't really indicating what he mean. we finally figured out he wanted both him and seth to come with me to the grocery store. I told him that I wasn't going to take both of them, but I would take one. He said "You no wanna take bofe of dese guys?" it amuses me greatly to see his grasp of language.

The other night Aaron reprimanded him for something, and a few minutes later Nolan in turn, reprimanded Aaron for something I can't remember what... or if he was just mocking Aaron. But her referred to him as "ok, Daddy Martin!"... heh.

He's obsessed with Caillou right now... which is FINE by me. Seth doesn't much care for it, and will play quietly and unbothered by his mean big brother while Nolan watches... we usually watch it before bedtime. It's a nice quiet cartoon to wind down with. Anyway, I asked him what the kitty cat's name is (it's Gilbert) and he said "it's not kitty cat, it's gewe-bert."

Lastly, he must've picked it up from the episode about Pirates, but he keeps holding stuff up to his eye like a telescope and saying "arrrr matey!" Whether it's an empty milk cup, a glow stick or some other random toy.

In Love

Because I am feeling happy and warm and smooshy inside, I want to share a few things that I am in love with.

1. My new iphone. I love this thing so much I could lick it.

2. The way Seth has taken to gently tapping on my arm when he wants something. It's so sweet, and he doesn't say anything... just sort of taps and looks at me with a questioning look. It just touches my heart when he does that. I embrace it, because I'm sure eventually it'll get old and I won't find it quite so endearing.

3. The way Nolan tries so hard to interpret for Seth. "what you say Seff? You say "scuse me"? Why you say "Scuse me" Seff? You want me move Seff? We won't know what the problem is and he will try so hard to figure out what it is Seth is saying/why he's saying it.

4. Seth's newfound independence. He is walking around right now with his Pajama top unbuttoned. I keep calling him little Julio... he won't let us button it for him. "no mom. I do it." Eventually he'll let me do it, but he is now insisting on doing so much on his own.

5. Nolan's use of language. Being stern w/ Aaron and addressing him as "daddy Martin" heh. Chastizing us for bad language "You no say stop dat shit mom" (oops)

Lastly, I went up to Harborview yesterday to visit a friend of mine. I didn't get to see her, but I sat with some of her friends and family for a while, and I'll try to see her again next week maybe.Sandra is very very sick, and she has a 2 and a half year old daughter at home... She has been sedated since last Tuesday... a week of her life is gone, and she is slowly getting better, but it is so scary. If you are the praying type, please spare some for her.

this one cracks me up.
I love his funny faces

I make a you some cookie mom.

I could just pinch him.

I am in a funk. I have a borderline bad attitude. Not totally bad, just sort of bad. Reasons being are:

*Tired of being fat.
*Tired of my own excuses why I am still fat.
*Stomach hurts.
*We are helping my parents move tommorrow. I am not bummed about that in itself, more about the situation at large, and the fact that it is change beyond our control. Makes my anxiety meter tick.
*I will have 3 houseguests this weekend. I am not funked out because of the houseguests, but because my house is a friggin disaster and I am not prepared. I will be cleaning under their feet, which is fine, but it stresses me out.
*We had our tax appt and though we are getting a refund, it's less than half of what we thought we were going to get. So some readjusting is being done in my head and it is stressing me out a bit.
*we want to move. badly. We want a house. This would necessitate us to finish the kitchen (painting and putting up cupboards)... as well as doing a plethora of other things to make it ready to sell. We are lazy. and busy. and tired. This is going to be a big project. I told Aaron I didn't even want to talk about it until we finish the kitchen. But I have secretly been looking at listings and am amazed at some of the prices. *sigh*
*my car is still broken. This is not because we are lazy, but actually, because we are busy and have not had the time to remedy the situation.
*I'm bloated.

I suppose I should counter the neg w/ the pos...
*I started the couch to 5k plan (again) yesterday.
*I have made it to the gym 4 days in a row (including today)
*we are getting a refund instead of having to pay.
*my kids are healthy.
*my family is healthy.
*we still have our jobs.
and most importantly,
*a new baby will be arriving towards the end of summer. (No not me, thankyajesus!)... My sister is pregnant and though we don't know her due date yet; we are thinking end of August/Early Sept. She is thinking boy, I probably agree... though I want to say girl :) Ultimately, I am just excited to get a baby fix w/out having to have one myself!

Here brudder I help you

They love that car

I'm not sure why...

But this pic has made me giggle all day long:

funny pictures of cats with captions
more animals

maybe it's because Aaron and I still play rock paper scissors to try and get out of doing things (emptying the dishwasher, answering the phone, changing someone's poopy ass, etc.)

Seriously, giggling out loud here.

We've been busy busy busy as of late; and it looks like it's going to be that way for a bit longer.

Before I forget I want to recommend the blog Want Not ... Mir updates daily, usually several times, with deals across the internet. She describes herself as 'an incurable tightwad' .... which means I can so totally relate. She posted this morning about the Amazon Goldbox Deal today... instead of it being one item, today it is many many many pairs of toddler/kid shoes, all priced at 9.98 and all qualify for the free shipping deal. (I believe you have to spend $25 bucks)... anyhoo. I bought the boys each a pair of cars sandals and a pair of cars tennis shoes... in a size bigger than they are now, so I hope the sandals will fit this summer!

Last night I made shrimp pasta for dinner and Nolan was delighted "I yike dees shrimps." "You put shrimps in here for me?" It's so nice when he actually eats and likes what I make. Seth ate 2 pieces of buttered bread and a banana. *sigh*

I also asked Nolan to eat some noodles and was informed "dose not noobles, dose pasketti." alrighty then. "Eat your pasketti please." he answered "No I eat da shrimps."

Tonight we go over to my mom and dad's after work, Aaron and I have an appt to get our taxes done... I tried doing them on TurboTax but it looks like we would get 1/3 of what we usually get (!) so I made the appointment w/ our tax guru Jane. Even if we still end up getting that same amount (I will sob great big alligator tears) I will at least know for myself that I did it right on Turbo Tax. *sigh*

This weekend we move my mom and dad into my sister's house. I have a lot of conflicting feelings about this... none of which I particularly feel like writing about, which is probably why I haven't been writing much here. Much easier to internalize and stew about it w/o dealing with it. Plus there's nothing my bellyaching will help anyway.

alright, I gotta go get ready for work. 15 mins to do my hair, makeup, and get dressed. I better jam!

Notice how he's laying on towels...
