So Nolan had so much fun last night down at his Grandma Inez's. We all did really, it was our nephew Austin's 15th birthday. Brandi (Aaron's sister) made dinner for us... chicken enchilada's... *sigh* yes, I went off the diet this weekend... it's so damn hard to stay on it when we are out and about all weekend. Plus the enchilada's were sooo good. But I wasn't totally bad, I didn't have any cake or anything.
Anyway, Nolan had a blast running around after his cousins and being doted on by his aunts and uncles. Sethy got to be passed around and loved on and did really well too. It was a really nice night.
Then this morning we met up with Heather and Julia at the mall to have the kids' pictures taken for christmas and to take them to see santa. I got up at 8:30 and realized we had an hour and 15 minutes to get our butts all showered, fed, dressed, and get the diaper bag packed and out the door... and we did it! at 9:46 we were on the road, it couldn't have gone smoother.
Jc Penneys was of course packed w/ families waiting to get family portraits done. I was absolutely amazed at how good Nolan was... he's not a bad kid or even a mischievious kid or anything, but as Heather put it... when he's done, he's done. he sat in his stroller the entire time we waited for pictures (which is good because I didn't want to let him get down and run and then have to reel him back in for pictures, I don't think it would have gone well.), and we never gave him a binky after we left the house because I didn't want to have to take it away either, and he did great!
He didn't exactly want to have his picture taken, but the gal did a pretty good job of distracting him. Getting 3 little ones to look at the camera at the same time is no easy feat either!
After we left Penney's we took the kids for lunch, to which Julia tested heather's patience a few times by taking a big drink of milk, then letting it run down her face and neck all over her dress. Heh.
The santa line wasn't too bad either for being a saturday. I warned the guy taking the picture that I suspected Nolan would wig out, and that I didn't care if he was smiling, I just wanted him to be looking at the camera. We took the kids up, sat them on Santa and Nolan never once got upset, rather he was absolutely mesmerized by santa's beard. We had a really hard time even getting him to look in the direction of the camera, lol.
Then we took the kids home and Nolan slept 2.5 hours before I had to wake him up. What a good boy.
Having some of his cousin's birthday cake
he thoroughly enjoyed it
hey, gimme that
don't you just want to bite him?
