My mom and sister bugged me to update yesterday, and I did but... blogger was being a big fat jerkface and wouldn't let me upload it. So you'll find that entry at the bottom of this one. nyah.

2 years ago today I went out on a blind date with my cousin's husband's best friend. I was nervous, I was shy, and so was he. We didn't really talk or look at each other over the entire course of the evening. And now we're married... I'm telling you, when it's right, it's RIGHT. We ate at Chang's Mongolian Grill... then we went out and sang some Karaoke... I got embarassed when the couple who owns the place greeted me with "Allison! You want your usual?" my usual being a rumplemintz on the rocks and a bud light. Great first impression by the way, walk into a local dive and have the owners know you. But somehow it all worked out... and I can't believe that it was only two years ago. I feel like he's been around forever. The man deserves a medal people, I can be a bit of a handful. And he not only puts up with it, he does so with a smile.

In non-sappy news, I am fucking ti-red today. I actually fell asleep last night around 8, slept through until this morning and dammit I feel like I could use a nap anyway. I'm not used to it being so dark so early here, that by 5pm it feels like 10.

Also, glad to see the white house received their annual christmas tree courtesy of my fine state. I hope the bastard is plagued with termites and drips sap EVERYWHERE. For those of you playing the home game, we still do NOT have a governor... and I love love LOVE that Christine Gregoire (democrat who is 42 (42!) votes behind in the race) is refusing to concede. Stick to your guns chick!

Man, what a weekend. It went by nice and slow yet I feel like I haven't caught up on all my sleep yet. On Thanksgiving, we spent the afternoon at Aaron's grandparent's house in Marysville... the traffic was such a nightmare that it took something heinous like 2.5 hours to get up there when I think normally it might've taken 1.5 hrs. Dinner was delish and we had a chance to catch up with Mike and his fiance' Sara (who were totally fabulous about helping with everything at the wedding, boy do we OWE them.) After dinner and dessert (mike made an awesome yam-cheesecake concoction of his own recipe, and so YUMMY) we drove back down towards home and stopped in at my parent's house and stayed for a bit. Thursday night, Lori came over as we trimmed our tree and spent the night as we got up at the crack of dawn on Friday to go Christmas shopping.

We went to Fred Meyers, and to GameStop. Both in Burien, both easy to get to, no long lines or packed parking lots. You can't beat that. I now have 3-4 gifts left to get and everything else is wrapped and under my tree. I love it! Friday afternoon we had dinner at my mom's house, a second sort of Thanksgiving, as it was Bobby and Johanna's last night. After dinner we went back to my house and Johanna and Seth got their birthday presents (even though their birthdays are Dec. 2nd and 1st respectively) and hung out and played video games until something crazy like 3am.

Saturday, we got up and went to look at neighborhoods as we need to move and PRONTO. We also did a bit of shopping and exchanging and then went home and watched a few movies and messed with the tivo (who is a punk bitch and needs to be returned because the fucker just keeps powering off. Aaron is taking that to task today.) Sunday, Aaron had to work, so I got together with a friend in the morning and we ran a few errands, I took a monster nap (the kind where you sleep so hard it's hard to wake up from) and then we vegged out some more last night. All in all a good weekend.

I will get around to recapping the honeymoon this week I imagine, and will probably share pictures. For now though, here are a few pics that crack me up...

I have no idea what I'm saying to Sara here.

Apparently my godmother and I made out that night

as did holly and I. It's so weird, he got it right at the moment where we went in for a hug after both Holly and Aunt Ruth gave a toast, and instead it looks like girl on girl action.

I am on a mission here, for what I don't know... but check out my stylin' footwear.

Okie dokie

Ok, I promise... PROMISE to have the pictures up this week. Truth be told I am about halfway done right now, but there are some glaring holes where I forgot to download pictures and that will hopefully be fixed tonight.

This weekend sure flew by fast... not that I am complaining, I was back at work on Thursday (with a sunny and chipper disposition no less!) and really, coming back for two incredibly short work weeks is AWESOME. Also, I am so glad to not be planning a wedding anymore I cannot even TELL you how glad. The realization that it's over and it went well is so wonderful and relieving... I almost don't mind that I am about to register for winter quarter next week. (oy, school again already? I've only been off since june!)

Friday after work I went and got my nails done, then we met up with Lori and Bobby and Joanna (Bobby and Joanna leave this coming Saturday for Sweden... how can it be they've been here a month already?) at Red Robin for a bite to eat. Then we went back to our house to play some Dr. Mario before our movie at 10. We saw National Treasure... I gotta say, it was a lot predictable but enjoyable. Then on Saturday, I met up with some girls that I graduated with to start planning our 10 year high school reunion. We had lunch at Olive Garden and it was a really nice time visiting. I hadn't seen one of them since we graduated back in 95. After that I walked over to the mall as Aaron had the car and was shopping at Fry's about 15 minutes away. I bought a few christmas gifts and shopped around. After Aaron picked me up we returned some of our duplicated gifts and went shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond. I wasn't feeling too hot by then, my feet hurt and I was crabby so we went home and cleaned the shit out of the house.

When I say that, I don't mean to imply that it was dirty, because it wasn't. It was a lot cleaner when we got back from the honeymoon than when we left it thanks to my sister; but the wedding shit was EVERYWHERE. So we went through boxes upon boxes, decided what to toss and what to keep etc etc. and condensed. Our wedding shit pile on the dining room table is now 'the wedding present mountain'... we can't open most of our stuff because we have no room. That is so not an exxageration either. We literally have no room for 95% of it. So we are looking online this weekend and will scout some places out and are hoping to move long before our lease is up in May. I'm thinking it would be great to move before the end of December but the liklihood of that actually happening of course is almost nil.

After that Matt and kylie, Bobby and joanna, lori and Ash all came over and played Dr. Mario for hours. I ended up falling asleep during the melee though I understand Bobby was finally victorious in the last game. (Gee, he only had 3 hours of practice!)

Sunday was spent running around, christmas shopping and generally getting shit done. Aaron's rear driver side tire somehow came up with 4 of 5 bolts broken off; so much running around and car working on was done by he and Willie... Thank God for friends! i don't know what we would have done.

Pictures to come probably tomorrow, I will be diligently working on them tonight. Thanks for reading!

I am working on resizing and choosing the pictures to post here, so no guarantees that it'll be up before next week, but here's a picture of our entire wedding party. I told you it was big...

Let's see... I think it's obvious that I'm the one in white... Let's start with the kids. From the left we have Cryssie, Jessie, Skyler and Ethan (the girls are my cousins, the boys are Aaron's nephews.) Next to me with the white bouquet is my sister Lori (in case you don't recognize her all cleaned up and beyootified.. heh), next to her with the dark hair is Heather whom I've known since age 13 or so, and next to her with the dark hair with light streaks is Jessica who I met in the 3rd grade in Mrs. Chinn's class. Next to Jessica is my cousin Lisa (also dark hair) and then the hot blonde next to Lisa and behind Heather is my cousin Dawn. Behind Dawn is Holly who I met the week before Halloween ten years ago when I started an afterschool job as a daycare teacher's aide. The handsome dude next to Dawn is Troy who dated Jessica all through high school and who is undoubtedly one of my best friends. (he was also the man of honor.) The hot blonde behind Troy is Ashley, who I've known since about the age of 9, and holy shit does she look smokin' or what?! The tall brunette next to Troy is Aaron's sister Brandi, his 'best maid', and next to her is my pal Bobby (Ashley's step brother) who flew in from Sweden for this shindig. How cool is THAT? Behind Bobby is Aaron's cousin Mike who is the nicest republican you'll ever meet. You know you're surprised that I allowed a republican into our wedding party! (there might've even been more than one, but he's the only one I'm SURE of!) He and his fiance' Sara were a GIGANTIC help, and we appreciated it so much. Behind Bobby in the black tie and red boutinierre is Dwayne, husband to my cousin Lisa and one of Aaron's best friend's. He was the Best Man. Behind Dwayne is my friend Matt... more of a friend, he and Bobby are as much my family as anyone else is. In front of Matt is Aaron's uncle Louie, quite possibly one of the coolest uncle's you could have. Reminds me a lot of my uncle Gary. In front of Louie is Aaron's brother Dan ... incidentally he's the only one besides the kids standing on the floor as he is 6'5" or 6' 7" or something crazy like that. Next to Dan is Wili, another of Aaron's best friend's. And next to Wili is my cute new husband Aaron, doesn't he clean up well?

More pictures to come soon, I promise.

Dude, I am so tired. You don't even know. In classic Allison fashion I am READY to go home. I miss the cats something terrible and we are all shopped out. We spent 200 (TWO HUNDRED!!!) bucks today to ship back a lot of our shit. We just didn't have the room or the patience to deal with 6-7 bags on the subway going back to JFK airport. That's ok though... it only hurt a little bit. ;-P I think I'm just ready to go because I am dreading.... dreading dreading dreading the plane ride tomorrow. I hate long flights and it's about 6.5 hours back to seattle. I about lost my shit and went crazy on the flight from jamaica and that was 3.5... think of me tomorrow around 6:30 eastern... that's when we'll be leaving the big apple.

So, the honeymoon... it's been long and great and so tiring. We took a 4 hour nap today... and I'm ready to go back to sleep again. Aaron is over at Virgin Megastore right now perusing the racks unhassled as I get my internet fix. We've been there twice but both times he's been a bit rushed by me... I can't help it, it's hot in there, I'm bundled up and my fucking feet hurt! :-) I should note though that before my sister chimes in with how much she hates going with me to a video/cd store that both times we were in virgin we were there for more than an hour so it's not like I'm not a good sport.

Oh yeah! I met regis philbin today!!! We went to the Regis and Kelly show, got to see Dan Akroyd and then they did an interview with Hugh grant that they are going to show either on Tuesday or wednesday... we are in the audience in the very back underneath the Live with Regis and Kelly sign. On the left. Anyhoo, afterwards he was in the lobby signing autographs for a bunch of ladies that brought memorabilia along, so I asked if I could have a picture with him and he very generously complied. VERY cool. Also, Kelly Ripa is damn pretty and so petite. Beyotch!

So I have Wednesday off, I am still sick by the way; I swear, I know I've been off work since before Halloween but if I feel like this come Thursday, my ass is calling in sick. Seriously. It's not just me either... the night of the bachelorette party someone was sick or carrying the bug and it's been a domino effect. My sister's voice sounds awful today and talking to Ashley last night made my eyes water. I know it also hit Karen, Maria, Holly, Heather and Joanna... not sure about the guys it hit.

Looking at some of the pictures my sister took makes me get a bit teary eyed... holy cow, it actually happened! I am so thankful for all of the help that our friends and family provided to make our day so special. I'll try to do an entry solely about that, because seriously... the way these people stepped up for us is awesome to me... more than that... I am indebted for life. Seriously. What also gets me is some of the displays of emotion that I didn't anticipate... those meant a lot as did everyone who toasted us at our wedding. (I might add that my sister who was SCARED.TO.DEATH. did an excellent job even though the asshole told a story about how she walked in on Aaron and I making out the first time she ever met him. Then Troy (my man of honor and one of my bestest friends EVER) said in his toast right after Lori "well, I also met Aaron in Allison's bedroom..." I was mortified. heh.)

Other than that it still floors me that I'm a married lady now. That Aaron actually CHOSE to spend the rest of his life with me... no pressure! ;-) I cannot wait to see pictures from the wedding and the video as well. we also ordered raw footage, as sometimes there is some great stuff in the raw footage. I've seen my sister's pictures, and one of the things that struck me first is how hot my friends are. Dude, my friend Ashley (actually, she's more like a little sister) is always beautiful, but with the dress on and the hair up, girlfriend looked like a goddess... wait until you see the pictures, all of my friends and family are hotties man. They looked awesome. It was great to see all the guys cleaned up and in tuxes. I kept squealing at them about how handsome they looked, and when my cousin Matt told me I was beautiful and gave me a kiss on the forehead I about fell over when it wasn't accompanied by a slug to the arm or a comment like "but everyone's pretty when I'm drunk!" I loved looking over at him and Bobby during the ceremony and seeing matt talking out the side of his mouth and bobby nodding subtley. Speaking of Bobby, he and Joanna leave for Sweden on Nov. 27th so I'm going to have to get a lot of Bibby Lou time in... (his name is Bobby Lee, but somehow we adopted that nickname)... so much to do!

I cannot believe that thanksgiving is like 2 weeks away...

Thanks everyone for all of the wonderful comments!!!! The wedding truly was a blast... even though at the moment it is only a blur... how crazy is that? A year and a half of planning and I don't even remember our kiss at the end of the ceremony. I do remember certain details... the sweating... holy shit that veil was like a blanket! And watching Aaron as we exchanged our vows... seeing people's faces as we watched the slideshow... I was sooooooooooo sick people. The day after the wedding I had almost no voice. In fact after the reception we stopped by safeway (still in tux and gown) and picked up sprite, m&m's, and a big thing of morton salt so I could gargle with it at the hotel.

We are in NYC right now, and Aaron is exerting much patience while I get my internet fix in the internet cafe in times square. We are starving; but I HAD to check my email! The hotel in Jamaica had internet service for 7.50 for 15 minutes... um no. As for the honeymoon thus far... I've fallen, lost my voice and caught pink eye... a success no? More details to come later; for now we are DYING to go shopping and blow some of this cash we have scrimped and saved!

Just so you know... we're married! More to come when we get back unless I find an internet cafe...

(we had seperate bachelor/bachelorette parties and met up at a local club afterwards.)
