Slap in the face.

Signing on to my reader this morning and reading that Ben's cancer has spread, and spread aggressively ... I just have no words. Please pray for him. I just cannot wrap my head around what lay ahead of him and his family.

It is just not fair.

So Yeah

I don't watch a whole lot of television... at least not new stuff. I watch A LOT of Dora the Explorer and The Backyardigans, CARS, Sesame Street, and the like. We also watch reruns of 'Doug' (King of Queens) and John and Kate Plus 8 (which Nolan has renamed 'my friends' ... "Wanna watch my friends!") But the only new shoes I really watch are Heroes, Law and Order SVU, ER, and Saturday Night Live. I think my tv watching load is about to become a bit lighter though. WTF is up with Heroes? I don't like horror flicks and it's becoming more and more horror flickish... gruesome, scary and just... icky. I can't take much more.

I'd like to find a new sitcom to watch, as I haven't watched a sitcom since Friends went off the air.

Bullet undodged.

er... rather, I got double the fun in the nasty department when it comes to potty training and laundry. Ew. ew. ew.

on a nicer topic, I forgot to post our menu for the week on Monday, so here it is (2 days late)

Mon- grilled chicken, stuffing (for kids) red potatoes (for aaron), veggie and fruit.
Tues- Cheeseburger Rice, green beans, bread and fruit
Wed- Parmesan crusted porkchops, pesto noodles, veggie and fruit
Thurs- Teriyaki Chicken, rice, rolls, veggie, fruit
Fri- Pizza! (and fruit)

I always offer a veggie and a fruit and almost always a bread of some sort... that way if the kids won't eat the main course, at least sometimes nolan will eat the veggie and the bread, and seth will eat the fruit and the bread.

Dodged a Bullet

Day one and I have the following to wash from Nolan's first day in undies:

*3 pairs of pants
*3 pairs of undies
*1 pair of shoes
*1 pair of socks

And all just wet with pee... feel like I definitely dodged a bullet on that one. I guess he was in a diaper when Aaron got there, not sure why... I put a call in to the daycare to find out why. I don't mind him being in a diaper at naptime, but I don't want to give him the safety net of a diaper in the afternoon... He is clearly capable of going potty like the rest of us. He is so proud of himself, it's a kick. He gets a hot wheel every time he pees on the potty here at home (and has been promised TWO hot wheels if he goes #2)... Wish us luck!

Here are a bunch of old pics because I've been lazy and need to catch up...

Luke was highly insulted that his mommy put a leash on him (though she had good reason to!)

He was kinda pissed

Please! Take it off!

Because I was home with the boys yesterday (or rather out and about... but more on that in a minute)... today felt like a Monday. I kept having to remind myself that it's really Tuesday and that Tommorrow is already the halfway point of the week. I love it!

As for the boys, Nolan laid in his bed for about a half hour yesterday, then got up and announced "I need some ceweal." Alrighty then. He was off and running... he did fill his diaper with pee in a short amount of time so I think he must've just had a really full bladder.

I felt like munchausen mommy though, I took the boys in to see the pediatrician in the morning (both have sinus infections and Nolan also has conjunctivitus) and then we went to my mom's to have lunch and a nap, then we went to the ear doc and had their checkups. Tubes are still in place and look great, and all is well.

speaking of pee (ok a few moments ago anyway) Nolan peed in the potty twice today! This is HUGE. Seriously HUGE. I almost cried I was so excited for him. He earned himself a sticker at daycare and a hotwheel at home. Hot damn!
