Daycare has lost 3... THREE coats of the kids' this week. Fleece jackets to be exact. But add that to the sneaker they lost last month and OH HELL NO.

To top it off, Seth was wearing someone else's coat when Aaron got there to pick them up.

I'm seriously going to FLIP OUT.

I have been obsessed with a few things lately... cute cupcakes like these:

lion cakes

I actually am planning on making these this week for a bake sale

this blog: Matt, Liz and Madeline This is a blog about a guy whose wife passed away from an aneurysm the day after their daughter was born. It is gut wrenchingly sweet at times, and heart breakingly sad at times... you just want to hug him. his daughter is adorable, and he is funny, honest, frank and candid. I highly recommend his blog.

and here are my pics from the fourth of july...

this is not a good pic; but it conveys just how scared he was of the fireworks.

Prayers please

For Ben ... the little guy with Neuroblastoma. He is Nolan's age, and has been through more in the past year than most adults I know have been through in their lives.

He has scans tommorrow... please please PLEASE pray that there is no cancer... that he is going to be ok... that all of the shit he has been through hasn't been for nothing.
Sippy or Missile...

No more water at bedtime. *sigh* Sunday night, after the boys went to bed... correction; AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES after the boys went to bed, they were still up. Aaron and I had both gone in to lay the smack down (read: Yell "IT'S NIGHT-NIGHT TIME, NOW LAY DOWN, AND LET'S GO TO SLEEP!) ... when all of a sudden the giggling and bouncing sounds stopped (they were jumping in their cribs)... and a scary scream erupted from Seth. I went running, and Aaron was right behind me. It was that intense, scary scream where you KNOW something is wrong. He was in a ball at the foot of his bed and was holding his forehead. I got him up and comforted him, no blood, no broken skin... couldn't tell what the problem was. Aaron changed Nolan's diaper and I kept Seth up w/ me for a while. I wanted to seperate them, plus make sure seth was truly ok. He has a curved mark on his forehead... a purplish one, a dent so to speak. We think Nolan threw his sippy at Seth and he got a bullseye ... they'd thrown everything else out of their beds as well... nothing was in Seth's bed. Poor kiddo, this is prime reason numero one why Nolan is still in a crib. While they are sharing a room, there is NO WAY I could trust him to not be confined.

So no more sippies at bed time. Sucks for them, but that was scary... poor Sethy.

Here are some pictures from the 4th of July (all taken by Lori)

we spent it over at Lori and Seth's.

My bridesmaid dress arrived on Friday, courtesy of my sister... I was dreading putting it on because I thought for sure I'd either look like a lumpy sausage in a pretty casing or that it wouldn't fit at all. The good news is that it not only fits, but it looks nice! I would still like to lose some weight (what else is new) before the big day in August, but I am quite pleased that it does fit!

Here are the cupcakes I made for today's bake sale...

I was practicing for Seth's birthday in September, I think we will do a 'C is for Cookie' theme and I'll make these again.

Pics from my cousins' graduation party in June...

He loves brooms. And vacuums. I cannot wait to utilize this information.

Daddy and Seth on the hammock (someday we dream of having one of these)

probably my most favorite pic of my beautiful sissy. I just love the expression on her face and she has good hair anyway, but on this day it just looked perfect. I was jealous.

He loved the rocking horse

Camryn, my cousin... she is a doll!

The gorgeous graduates. *sigh* I was 13 when they were born... it does NOT seem like that much time has gone by.

Not sure why I took so many of just Seth that day... I think he was more cooperative (shocker!)

Cranky Sunday

Man, I have been in a mood all weekend... I woke up yesterday with a raging headache. I took 3 tylenol... it didn't do anything. A few hours later I took a muscle relaxer and took a hot shower. Nada. When the kids went down for nap a while later, I took some ibuprofen and then went grocery shopping. When I got home I made some brownies and then passed out on the couch for an hour. When I got up, my head was still hurting... before we left for the evening I took some excedrine migraine... that finally put a stop to it.

We took the kids to greenlake last night for a picnic dinner... Nolan was on a roll. He has reached this 'defiant' stage of awesomeness, and Seth has reached the 'throwing a fit' stage, where everything warrants screaming, stomping, and a complete and total meltdown. And he doesn't listen either.

It was awesome. I don't know what Aaron enjoyed more, having a bird shit on his hand (true story, he was PISSED) or the constant tug of war between nolan and seth running off, not listening, shoving each other etc. In the end it was a pretty good time, we were trying to maintain and just have fun. The kids walked most of the way around the lake too; I believe it's a little over 2 miles, I was pretty impressed. Anyway, here are some old pics from June...
