Hakuna Matata

So yeah... I've been kinda busy as of late... School is going well, Nolan's doing great at daycare. No tears or anything on Friday. yay!

I've been in a reading mood lately, and can't get enough of it. Specifically Jodi Picoult books, though I have also bought a few other's from Target's book club selections. It's kind of nice, I haven't been in a reading mood in a few years.

I finally caved and took my wedding ring in to be resized. I wored it when I was a good 30lbs heavier than I am now, but the damn thing still won't fit. I am tired of not being able to wear it so I took it in, heh maybe this will be the thing that seals the deal and makes me lose weight... then I'll have to go w/o it for another week to be resized again.

anyhoo, how about some pictures...

*SIGH*

Coolest feeling in the WORLD: picking your child up at daycare and having them run to you w/ open arms and hug you tightly.

Not so coolest feeling in the world: dropping said child off at daycare and having them meltdown, complete w/ watching them through the window scream and cry and reach for you w/ outstretched arms.

*sigh*

I know he'll end up having fun, but it just sucks to leave him like that.

Happy 30th to me

Today is a pretty good day. I am 30 years old today... I totally never thought this day would come. I'm not down about it or anything, but it is kind of strange to officially be in my thirties now. :)

School is going well... I shouldn't even be updating this right now, but you know... I had an opportunity to steal a few illegal internet moments so here I go. I just wanted to update everyone on how we're doing.

When I dropped Nolan off at daycare on the first day the child took off and wanted nothing to do with me. Then he cried when I came to pick him up because he wanted to stay. Yesterday and today have been harder w/ him freaking out a bit when I drop him off... but his teacher assures me that he calms down w/in about 10 minutes and is happy and playing the rest of the day. He also was excited to see me and go home last night.

I don't have much planned for my birthday other than to go home and hang out w/ my family... I haven't really seen Aaron since Sunday so it'll be nice to chill out together tonight... he took the night off for me, isn't that sweet?

Anyhoo, if you're lucky I may even get around to posting pictures tonight... I have a ton of Lucas to share, and I need to be more diligent about taking more pictures... I have just been so busy.

Anyhoo that's all for now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORI!

So Monday I start back at school. Not to obtain my teaching license as originally planned, but rather to attend a year long class on becoming a legal secretary. Why the change? In a nutshell, Sethy sort of changed the path I was on... I was clinging to the idea that I would still be a teacher, but then I got pregnant and realized that I would have to wait until September 2007 to even begin the last two years of my schooling... and then I would have to take x amount of schooling thereafter to even KEEP my job. Not to mention the long hours doing group study etc. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do... I knew I wanted a 9 to 5 job, something that was more business like, more money and something that would be more up to me if I wanted to bring my work home w/ me.

My sister was doing a program at a local school for legal assisting and the more I heard about it, the more I liked the sound of it. As an intern she made more than I would likely make as a teacher. So I decided to go for it. In the past few weeks we've been ironing out the details... I was blessed and a grant is paying for my schooling and nolan's childcare. Seth will be able to go there when he is 1 year old and walking. I will have about a month off this summer as well which I am very happy about.

Aaron is still on nights right now, so the plan is that I will take nolan w/ me to school and drop him off at the daycare around 7am. (school is from 8-2:30), and when Aaron leaves for work around 12:30 he'll take sethy over to my sister's house and I'll pick him up around 3. We were going to have Aaron keep nolan home two days a week so he can see him, but I think we'll wait a week or two on that because I want nolan to get into the rhythm and get used to going to 'school'. Aaron thinks it's a good idea to let him get integrated there first too.

When Aaron goes back on to day shift, I am hoping Lori will be able to take sethy all day, if not I have other options I will explore... it all depends on when that happens. Which does not look to be anytime soon.

So yeah... I'm excited. I'm worried too of course, this is a big change for us... but I am looking forward to it. I am excited for Nolan as well... I think he is getting BORED at home. I hope he likes it... I think he will, and if he doesn't well... he won't be the first kid to not like it.

Anyhoo, so that's what's going on. How about some pics...
