I've got that Diana Ross song 'I'm Comin' Out' stuck in my head and it's going over and over and over. I have the strongest urge to clean, and clean and clean and clean. I cleaned the shit out of our kitchenette at work and vacuumed etc. I want to clean my house now, but we have other shit to get done tonight. No huge plans for the evening, or the weekend. Tomorrow we are going to stop by a friend's house for her engagement bbq, and hopefully we'll clean the house and watch those netflix movies we have out. Tonight we are going down to Eatonville to see Aaron's sister and then Sunday... well, it's still up for grabs. I think we may head over to my uncle Gary's house and watch the hydro races there. But we aren't 100% on that yet either.
I picked up the wedding invitations today (!) They turned out great. I'll scan one in, blur out the important parts and post it this weekend.
Last night at my moms went well, it was a nice time for sure. Yummy food. TOO much food. How bout some pics?
The cake before I put the correct number of candles on it. Oh, and for Dana in the guestbook, all I did was make a regular chocolate cake from a box. (I think the one I chose was pillsbury.) I then used vanilla pudding (handi-snack, heh!) for the filling; just slathered it on before I put the top half on. then I frosted it with premade chocolate frosting (I had little to no time y'all.) and then I bought a bag of mini oreos, regular size ones would work just as well I spose. After I put them in the freezer for about 20 minutes, I put them in a bowl and used a hammer (seriously; couldn't find the meat tenderizer.) to crush them. I put a papertowl over them and just pounded sort of gently; it doesn't take much to crush them. I then pressed the crushed oreos into the sides of the cake, and on the top in the middle. Then I placed some of the non-crushed oreos on the top. Simple really. I was going to put crushed oreos in the middle with the pudding, but mom said she wanted just plain pudding.
Here the cake is on fire, heh.

my fruit salad. Cut up hunks of banana, apple, orange, and pineapple with lowfat whip cream. mmmmmm.
My mom's fantastic spaghetti salad. I must get that recipe sometime.

my Uncle Gary and I and our cheesy grins.

If you look closely you can see the little freckle on his lip.
The following are for my mom, Karen, Lori and Ash... LOTS of brides don't wear anything with their veils. I tried mine on for them last night and a discussion... which featured me yelling "CAN I GET A FUCKING WORD IN EDGEWISE?" happened in which I was encouraged to buy a tiara. I don't want one. I like the simplistic look. They say that it appears as if something is missing, but I don't think so.
This is actually the picture I found and cut out in a magazine, when I realized how I wanted my veil to look.
Ditto to this one
THE FRIDAY FIVER
1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it?
I think it was New Kids On The Block... Back in ... 1989 or 1990. It fucking rocked. It was at the Tacoma Dome. I was 12.
2. What was the most recent concert you attended? Where and when?
Kid Rock at Key Arena back in May.
3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed?
Yes, I saw Eminem back in 2002 and I was freakin OBSESSED with him. I wanted to be his baby mama. (I only sort of still do. I'd rather be Aaron's baby mama now.) The show was outfuckingstanding.
4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em!
I was totally blown away by Guns n Roses. We were the second show on the tour in 2002 (before it all fell apart) and it was so awesome. I would see them again in a heartbeat. I was also blown away by Aerosmith, they rocked the hizouse. I was disappointed with the spice girls back in 98... heh, I was more disappointed because there about 4 billion 8 year olds dressed as hookers that WOULD.NOT.STOP. standing on their chairs. Hence, I couldn't see the musical brilliance on the stage. Whateva.
5. Name five bands that would headline your own personal festival. (Along the lines of Oz Fest or Lollapalooza)
1. Guns n' Roses
3. Dr Dre/Snoop Dogg (doing the old school stuff)
4. Lynyrd Skynyrd
5. Dixie Chicks
Have a great weekend!
