7 short days till we move! I am in a veritable state of distress... if living out of boxes, in a room that is barely big enough to turn around in, let alone hold almost the entire contents of our new home weren't enough, next weekend... MOVING weekend is also a very fucking busy weekend. Aaron has two mariner's games to work (saturday and sunday) I have a concert to go to saturday night; with my family, aaron also has a union meeting that saturday morning to vote on a contract... we need to go get groceries on sunday, my family is holding a gigantic barbecue on sunday afternoon that I really hate the idea of missing, and in between we are supposed to be moving and getting settled. Never mind that I have the week after we move in to sand down the fucking splatter marks on my bedroom walls before my mom moves the contents of her storage unit in there. Never mind that I hate... no... I HATE the idea of not being settled right away... and we have some semi busy weekends coming up after that. I know that I am stressing about events here that I really don't need to stress about... I know that. But I can't help it... it's my nature... I just want to get it all done, and spend sunday evening relaxing in my new apartment with my boyfriend and my cats...
that said, I am actually in a glorious mood today; the perfect mood to go shopping for capri pants in! woo hoo! I don't wear shorts; haven't in a long time, and don't plan to for an even longer time. When I have thighs and calves that resemble a normal human being's then we'll talk. Until then I'll just do you all a favor and cover up.
Now then ... without further ado...
THE FRIDAY FIVE
1. Name one song you hate to admit you like.
I was just lamenting about this (incidentally am I using that word right?) the other day... that new R. Kelly song Ignition...the remix... I fucking love that song, but I hate that he does it. So I downloaded it; so at least he won't be getting one red cent from me.
2. Name two songs that always make you cry.
I'm not sure if any song really makes me cry... I guess Amazing Grace on the bagpipes is a good one, especially though if there is specific sentiment behind it.. like when Lori and I went to this rally at the Seattle Center after 9/11 and they had some gentlemen there playing the bagpipes, once they started on that, it was all she wrote. Along those lines I would also have to say that Taps is another one that tugs at my heart... for a long time I couldn't listen to the song Linger by the Cranberries, because it was played at the funeral of a girl who passed away when I was a Junior... that song is now a favorite and doesn't make me cry anymore.
3. Name three songs that turn you on.
Tom Dooley by the Kingston Trio, Fancy by Reba Mcentyre and One Toke Over the Line by whoever... hell I don't know. Obviously for those of you playing the home game I'M BEING SARCASTIC.
4. Name four songs that always make you feel good.
*Celebration by Kool and the Gang
*Scar Tissue by Red Hot Chilli Peppers
*Nothin but a G Thang by Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg and...
*America by Simon and Garfunkel.
5. Name five songs you couldn't ever do without.
*Making Love Out Of Nothing At All by Air Supply (YOU KNOW YOU LIKE THIS SONG!)
*Sweet Caroline (Da Da DAAAAA) by Neil Diamond
*Imagine by John Lennon
*Cleanin' Out My Closet by Eminem
*Hot Stuff by Donna Summer
... I think that pretty much sums it up...
